G.I. Joe: Retaliation's
The costume in this scene is show to be uniform as characters in the background are wearing the same type of clothes with only a different colour, this could indicate to a person higher in power/command or even oppositions. The design of the costume creates mystery as the face of the character is covered this could mean that they are trying to hide their identity.
The lighting is very dull to create an eerie atmosphere which creates tension in the air and adds more effect to the action scene. Their is also a focus on the character in yellow uniform to show that this person is important.
The way the actor is standing towards the front alone suggests that she may be the only survivor and implies that shes fearless and extremely good in what shes does. The placement of the the actors in the background could suggest that they are either a team or threat to the women this will confuse the audience with may also create suspense and fear.
The faces of the actors are hidden which makes them appear dangerous considering the setting and environment in the picture. The props in the picture such as swords suggests a feud or war. The use of the sword instead of guns could suggest that this fight was taken place when guns didn't exist. The idea of sword also shows how they are close to their culture. The setting seems plain and old fashioned as their are doors made out of bamboo and coloured flags which are usually placed in the mountain areas.
The setting in the trailer of the baby driver shows a basement like room with actors sitting around the table and having a serious difference which implies that they may be discussing something that is secretive as its not conducted out in an office. Their is only one man wearing a suit who is also standing up and talking to the people around this shows how he has a higher authority. The lighting in the trailer throughout is natural light (bright sunny day),
whereas in the opening scene for the Casino Royale the lighting is black and white which sets a glum mood and creates suspicion. The costume the actors are wearing are suits which is a very formal attire matching the setting which appears to be an office, however their is a contrast when we see a gun being pulled out from a drawer, this suddenly shifts the mood as now the two actors are appears more than just normal people in an office. As the scene progresses the setting changes from the office to a toilet and the actor (who seems to be the main character) where we can see him very skillfully disarm a man while strangling him, this shows how he may be an experienced assassin also judging by his suits he doesn't appear to be killing for money but some sort of contract, last but not the least the actor killing the person by brutally drowning him in the sink shows the level of his aggression and lack of sympathy for people.
The opening scene for harry potter and the sorcerer's stone is similar to the opening scene for Casino Royale as the lighting ids dark however the lighting in this scene is natural(night time). The costumes worn by the actors are very unusual as they indicate to something magical, this is further backed up when they use a torch like prop which is shown to take away the light from the street lamp, this tells the audience that the genre of the movie is fiction. The setting is a normal court with houses in the background contrast with all the magical activities which may also grab the attention of the audience. Towards the end the actors leave a baby at the front door of a house which creates question in the audiences mind as to who the baby is and why did they leave it at the front door.
